Welcome at the Frankiz e Finistère website.
Since the month of May in 2010 are we,
Hans Schut and Ina van de Leur, the owners of this former farmhouse, built in the
Breton style.
The original house was built in 1843 and in the following decades it
has been surrounded by ‘granges’, the last was added in 1959.
The name of the house
is also Breton and means Freedom in Finistère.
According to the Romans the European
continent ended here in the most western point of Brittany: Finis Terrea.
Those of
you who would like to taste the unique Celtic atmosphere, the connection with the
ocean, the fantastic light will feel at home here. Here you can find the roughest
coasts and islands of France, interspersed with beautiful sand beaches. The hikers,
cyclists, surfers and fishermen among you in particular will enjoy these surroundings.
But even for the less sportive types Finistère has enough to offer to ensure a wonderful
holiday.
Our house is situated close to the ocean and the soft weather due to the gulf stream contributes to the wild growth in these parts. Did you know the hydrangeas bloom excessively here in Brittany, in every imaginable color? But you may also find palm trees, bougainvillea and oleander.
We invite you to visit the authentic Brittany in our chambres d”hôtes.
Of course you
are also welcome to stay in a tent or caravan.
For more information on the possibilities
regarding accommodation, number of visitors and costs you may look further on this
website.
We hope to give you a hearty welcome!
